Harar in Flames Second Largest Abyssinian City

Harar, the second largest city in Abyssinia, is in flames as a result oi a mass raid ot dO Italian bomoers. The French hospital, the Catholic Church, a number of Coptic churches and many of the biggest buildings have been destroyed. The casualties are estimated at 40 dead and 120 injured. Correspondents with the Italian northern army telegraph via Asmara that the Italians have occupied two important strategic towns, Sakota, 45 miles cast oil Lake Ashanghi, and Dcbareh, a commercial centre in the southern tip of the Semien province. The occupation straightens out the front and followed a march of days and nights with camel trains. The troops were often stripped to the waist and plodded through the sandiest and hottest part of Abyssinia. No resistance was encountered. It is presumed the Abyssinians were withdrawn days ago. The Second Army Corps is now marching through Debareh towards Gondar. It is unofficially declared that part of the force is already there.
