Cricket in Feilding

MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE The Feilding Cricket Association met last evening, Mr C. E. Taylor (president) presiding. There were also present Messrs T. Donaldson (secretary), M. Barltrop, N. J. Fitzpatrick, J. Dewe and G. J. Fitzpatrick. The committee agreed to accept the challenge of the Southern Hawke’s Bay Association for the Goldfinch and Cousins cup match, to bo played in Feilding on Saturday, March 28. A challenge was also received from the Manawatu association, and it was decided to hold over a decision until after the Southern Hawke’s Bay match. In connection with an invitation from the Rangitikci association for a match, it was agreed to defer consideration until after the representative fixture of Alarch 28. It was reported that there was likely to be a representative team visiting Feilding during Easter. It was decided to close the senior competition as at Saturday, Alarch 7, with Colyton the winners by one point from Old Boys. Play for tho Bartholomew cup for the best batting average, will continue along with competition games until April 4. The junior competition will also continue until the same date. In connection with the Bartholomew cup competition, it was decided to advise the secretaries of tho “B” teams that they will be required to submit figures immediately.
