. From Our. Owe Correspondent There was a good attendance at the : euchre and, dance in aid of .the tennis ■ clbu funds on Friday last. The prize win- ■ ners in tho ladies’ section were Miss L. ’ Davey and Mrs L. Hastings (consolation) ■ while Messrs H. Teasdale and J. Atkin- ■ son tied for first place in the men’s sec- ' tion, the latter finally winning in the cut- : oft. Mr J. O’Neil won the consolation. Music for the dancing was supplied by 1 Mesdames A. Crowe and L. Hastings, Miss M. Anderson and Mr L. Craven. A ' competition was won by Mr. S. Anderson. ' Thanks- are due to Mrs. W. Anderson for ■ the donation of a prize. The duties of ; M.C. were capably carried out by Mr. W. : Anderson. The Education Board's workmen have ; been carrying out repairs to the scliooi buildings, necessitated by the recent storm. Ground improvements have been put in hand by the school committee and when completed should add greatly to the appearance of the school grounds. Tho opening night of the Miniature Rifle Club was held on Monday night, when there were several new members present, and tlie attendance and shooting augurs well for the coming season.
