From Our Owu Correspondent.

Miss Mary Eggers who has been staying in Feilding has returned home. Mrs R. Taylor, accompanied by her daughter, Mrs F. AVoolford and grandson, Allen, have retruned home, having spent a fortnight’s holiday at the Tangimoana beach. Miss Vera Pearce is the guest of Mrs C. England, of Cunninghams.

Molly Shannon, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs A. E. Shannon, of Tupuae, was admitted to the private hospital in Feilding on Tuesday last where she underwent an operation for appendicitis. She is making satisfactory progress. Last Saturday, the school children and their parents spent their annual picnic beside the river at Beaconsfield. The committee arranged a wonderful programme for the day's entertainment, providing the children with all the luxuries a child wishes to have, those including ice creams, soft drinks, sweets, nuts and fruit. Beautiful bright sunshlno made the day an Ideal picnic day and the children were able to enjoy their swimming and racing. A lovely dinner and afternoon tea was served by the parents, this being much appreciated by the hungry little people. About 5 p.m. the picnickers set off home, all being thoroughly satisfied with their day’s outing.
