TSE 3* From Our Owu Correspondent. School Picnic. This year the annual school picnic was held In tho cool shade of the Ashhurst Domain. Tho day dawned wonderfully bright and sunny and it was a lull bus, kindly supplied by the school committee, Uiat left the school early with Its load ol lmppy children. Ducklly the tornado had not seriously damaged the popular picnic haunt. In the vicinity of 250 enjoyed a very pleasant day, to a certain extent made happier by the fact that the committee had attended to the catering. A comprehensive sports programme was dealt with. The children were treated to a lolly scramble and a very successful picnic broke up at milking time. General. Home from a holiday trip to Auckland is Mr F Smith. Miss B. Woodd has departed to Neison on holiday bent. Mr M. MeCool had the misfortune last week to break a leg through the pony he was riding slipping and falling on him. He is progressing.
