There was a very good attendance of ladies at the Parsonage on Thursday afternoon for the first meeting for this year of the Methodist Church Guild. Mrs T. H. Purnell presided.' Rev. and Mrs. R. Afternoon tea was served at the conclusion of the business. Domain Board. i The quarterly meeting of the Apiti Domain Board was held on Thursday night. There wero present Messrs W. McKay (chairman), W J.. Osborne, J. R. Stewart, C. Mclntyre and the secretary, M. McKay. Mr F. Munro sent an apology. Mr W. G. Morris, who is shortly leaving tho district, forwarded his resignation which was accepLed with regret. The secretary was Instructed to write a letter of appreciation to Mr Morris, whoso past services will be placed on record. A new member is to be elected at next meeting. A letter was received from Apiti Athletic Sports Club, applying for the use of the grounds for the sports meeting on March 4. As the domain requires somo preparation for the sports meeting, some discussion took place as to whether or not a charge should be made to cover the cost of the Improvements. Finally the matte" was left in the hands of Messrs C. Osborne, C. Spence, and secreary for further consideration, and although tho time is short, this committee will endeavour to arrange the suggested improvements in time for the sports meeting. During recent months the triangle gate at the hall entrance was removed and broken. This gate will have to be replaced to prevent wandering stock having access to tho Domain Board property. It is not generally known that anyone found wilfully damaging Domain Board property is liable to a heavy line, so those with a tendency towards larrikinism when functions arc taking placo at the hall will be well advised to desist from such actions which cause the Domain Board unnecessary expense.
