From. Our Ovra Correspondent. Annual School Picnic. Tho venue of this annual fixture was Air R. C. Hill’s property. The nail-diving, lady competitors only, caused much amusement, tho misses being a great deal more prominent than the hits scored. Strikes ranged from fifty odd down to Airs R. C. Ward (Para Rubber Co.’s order), while a special invitation race for Air Ted Houlihan’s trophy was won by Air R. O. Hill who romped home in the final race of the day. Following the afternoon tea, served under the sheltering pines. Air E. C. Print thanked Air R. C. Hill for his kindness in placing his property at the disposal of the community for the festival and for the services he had rendered in regard to the catering and supply of refreshment and preparation of the grounds all of which had helped to make the day one which would be remembered for many a month to come. He called for three cheers for Air and Mrs Hill and the rousing response sufficiently showed the appreciation of all present, especially the children. No sooner had the last car departed than heavy rain set in, so that it might well be said that fortune once smiled our way. Tennis.

Owing to the heavy state of the grounds following Friday’s ram it was found Inadvisable to play Carnarvon tennis team on the Saturday. A team arranged by Air R. C. Hill will play Bulls at Bulls next week-end. Air and Airs A. Richmond are spending a week in Wellington. . Air C. Short has returned to his home at South Raumati. The Women’s Institute picnic will be held at Mr Hill’s place this coming Saturday. A cordial Invitation has been .extended to one and all.
