Twelve persons were killed and scores injured by a hyaena which has been terrorising villages in the Eijnor district, United Provinces. The hyaena daringly enters huts, seizes children and devours them in the woods. It also killed an aged Hindu priest. European Indian hunters organised search parties without success. Tie police offered a large reward to the person killing the animal. Poisoned Food at Religious Feast Received Monday, 11.40 p.m. CALCUTTA, Feb. 24. Fifteen are dead and many seriously ill after a feast at a religious ceremony in the village of Kalyat, near Shoranur, Madras. The police believe an Arrana or ■Salamander, which the local inhabitants declare is poisonous, either dropped or was introduced into the food,
Two Arranas captured have been sent to the Research Institute' for analysis.
