Brownie Revels
HELD IN SYLVAN SETTING
On Saturday afternoon the Brownie revels were held midst pleasant surroundings at the home of Mrs G. A. Elliott, District Commissioner, atFitzherbert West. Perfect weather prevailed throughout the afternoon and the bright gardens provided a delightful setting for the revels. Four Brownie packs were present representing All Saints'", Hokowhitu, St. Paul's and Foxton, the Guiders in charge being Mrs Tiddy (Brown Owl), Hokowhitu; Misses J. Woodward, B. Bailey and M. Bourko (Tawny Owls), All Saints’; Misses M. Baron (Brown Owl) and Cowan, Foxton; and Miss A. Baker, St. Paul's. The afternoon was pleasantly spent with games and competitions on the spacious lawns, the revels opening with the Brownies’ Song, following which each six sang its own little song. An item was presented by each pack, some being particularly unusual and clever.
Ice creams were dispensed during the afternoon and cool drinks and afternoon tea served to all present. Those who kindly assisted with the afternoon tea were Mesdames Wallace Cook, Roberts? F. Bennett, Merton, Fleck and Miss King. Just before five o’clock a very happy afternoon finished with “Taps.”
