Good progress is being made with tho construction of the traffic bridge at Paremata, the bridge which is going to bring Plimmerton and. Pukerua six miles nearer Wellington by road. The contractor, Mr M. G. Templeton, has expressed himself as being well satisfied with the project, three of the nine 50-foot reinforced concrete spans having been completed, together with the massive abutment supporting the southern approach. It is expected that construction work will be extended from bank to bank by the end of June, and that the structure will be ready for traffic by the end of August. The bridge provides for a 21-foot roadway, with a five-foot sidewalk on either hand.
