Oroua Downs Sports
NEXT WEDNESDAY Holding tlie reputation of putting on the most popular and successful sports meeting on this coast, the Oroua Downs Sports Club should have difficulty in handling the crowd at its twentieth annual fixture next Wednesday. All that is wanted now is a fine day, for everything is in readiness fo rthe big event. An excellent arid varied programme of horse, athletic, Highland and novelty events has been arranged, and owing to the length of the programme a start will be made at 10.30 a.m. sharp. A broadcast of music, results of events, and items of interest will, be made throughout the day and everything possible has been done to cater for the requirements of the public. Eefreshments will be obtainable on the grounds and hot water will be provided free to those who desire to picnic on the ideal grounds. Admission is only Is 6d, school children free; vehicles Is. A dance will be held in the hall in the evening, admission to which is fixed at gents 3s, ladies 2s. Larkins’ orchestra will b« in attendance.
