< Monday will see .the commencement of building operations in connection with the new post office for Pahiatua. A start would have been made earlier only the contractor has been held up due to damage to his workshop in the Tecent storm. Mr W. Galbraith has now finished cleaning up and clearing fhe section in readiness for the contractor. The team to represent Mangatainoka Cricket Club against Euawhata (to be played over the week-end) will bo selected from the following:—Gowler, O’Brien, Holtham, Small, Smith, Dungan, Taylor, Murch, Gunn, Matthews, Ginnane, Gemmcl, Cavanagh, McPherson, Miles, and Curry, Play will start at 12 noon. Mr E. H. Lett is the successful tenderer for the erection of Messrs C. and C. McCardle’s new premises, to bo erected on the section between Oxley’s and Brown’s buildings. Work is to be started immediately and the owners hope to . be in their new building by April. The Mangamutu Tennis Club will hold a club day during the week-end. A tournament will be held, commencing at 12.30 p.m. All players are asked to bring a plate.
