Wedding of Interest To Woodville

WARDROP—MANNING. A gown of pearl tinted lace and satin was worn by Joan Marion, elder daughj ter of Mr and Mrs S. J. Manning, Roxburgh street, Wellington, when she was married to Gavin Newman, only son of Mrs Wardrop, of Carterton, and tho lato Captain G, W. Wardrop, formerly of Woodville. The ceremony took place on a recent evening, at St. Mary of the Angels, Boulcott street, Wellington, and wa3 performed by Rev. Father Nolan, assisted by Rev. Father Dignan. The bride, who was escorted by her father, made a charming picture. The bodice of her gown, formed of lace, was joined to a satin yoke, which was trimmed with hoops of satin and small pearls. Tho slim fitting lace skirt was finished with a satin train which fell from the shoulders. Her tulle veil was \ mounted on a circlet of orange blossom and she carried a bouquet of cream gladioli.

She was attended by ner sister, Miss Betty Manning, and Miss Joyce Wellwood (llastiugs), who were dressed alike in frocks of shell pink moire taffeta, the full skirts iiuished at the waist line with peplums, and the corsages trimmed with touches of silver lame. They wore large crinoline hats and carried bouquets of shaded pink gladioli.

Attending the bridegroom were Messrs M. Staco and K. Manning, as best man and groomsman respectively. After tho ceremony Mr and Mrs Manning entertained their guests at a reception, Mrs Manning wearing a frock of navy mariette, with matching lace coatee, trimmed with bands of mariette and a navy nat. Mrs Wardrop, mother of tho bridegroom, was in a smart patterned frock made in tunic style, with hat to tone. Mr and Mrs G. N. Wardrop left the following day by air for the south on their honeymoon trip, Ms Wardrop weaing a tailored suit of navy pis stripe and halo hat of navy velour.
