Johnsonville Sale

Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., and Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on- Johnsonville sale held on Tuesray as follows: —

In spite of tho inclement weather there was a large attendance of buyers and a good sale resulted. The cattle entry comprised heavy-weight bullocks and cows with a few pens of lighter sorts. Prime cattle met with a ready sale whilst plainer sorts were not in demand. Vealers, which were in short supply, met with keen competition. The prices showed no alteration on last week's rates. In the sheep section, wethers were not sought after, but there was a good sale for ewes at prices slightly firmer than last week. Lambs met with a good demand at lato rates. Quotations are:— Prime extra heavy bullocks, £ll 14s, £ll 2s, £11; prime heavy bullocks £IU 15s, £lO 10s, £lO 7s 6d,' £lO 2s, £10; heavy bullocks, £9 10s, £9 ss, £8 17s 6d; extra prime heavy cows and heifers, £8 16s, £8 ss, £7 13s, £7 10s; prime heavy cows and heifers, £6 16s, £6 13s, £6 9s, £6 Is; cows and heifers, £3 15s, £3 10s, £3 Is, £2 17s; vealers, £1 18s, £1 13s, £1 9s, £1 ss, £1 2s, £l.
