From Our Ovvu Correspondent. Mr E. Crane, grandson of Mrs C. Lassen, was successful in obtaining his B.A. Degree at tho recent examinations and leaves shortly to ■ take up his duties in Wellington to where he lias been transferred from Christchurch. Mr and Mrs Pascoe, of Tauranga, have been the guests of Mr and Mrs L. Pascoe. Mr and Mrs Gordon Dutbie and family are leaving over the week-end to take up their residence in Feilding, The friends of Mr W. B. Dutliie will be sorry to learn that he is indisposed. Mrs R. Donald, Robert’s line, is on a visit to Mr and Mrs Murray Donald, Piimmerton. Tennis. Bunnythorpe- . journeyed to Foliangina on -Saturday when Pohangina proved the winners by 10 sets to five and 91 games to 73. The following were the results, Pohangina players being mentioned first:— Men’s singles: R. Smart beat Z. Little 7—l, W. Smart beat W. Sutherland 7—2, F. Roberts lust to J. Gore 4—7, G. Thompson beat B. Williamson 7 —3. Ladies’ singles: Miss N. Kiink lost to Miss W. Robson 2—7, Miss R. Kiink lost to Miss E. Robson 2—7, Miss M. Smart beat Mrs Jackson 7—5, Miss M. Maddeson beat Miss Linklater 7—3. Men’s doubles: Smart and Smart beat Little and Sutherland 7 —4, Roberts and Thomson beat Gore and Williamson 7 —3. Ladies' doubles: Misses N. and It. Kiink lost to Misses Robson 3—7, Misses Smart and Maddeson lost to Mrs Jackson and Miss Linklater 3—7. Mixed double:’ R. Smart and Miss N. Kiink beat L; Little and Miss N. Robson 7—5, W. Smart and Miss R. Kiink beat Sutherland and Miss L. Robson 7—U. Roberts and Miss Smart beat J. Gore and Mrs Jackson 7—2, Thomson and Miss Maddeson beat Williamson and Miss Linklater 7—4. Sports Meeting. The committee has a very fine collection of trophies in hand and other arrangements are well forward for the annual sports meeting. Given line weather. Saturday promises to be a red letter day in the sporting world of Bunnythorpe.
