Novelty Events at Feilding Show
DISPATCH RACE, DOG TRIAL AND CHOPPING COMPETITIONS.
To those who like the thrill of a race, the dispatch race at the next Feilding Show, should strongly appeal, providing as it does an element of luck, combined with good horsemanship. Competitors in this race are required to- lead their horse for a few chains, then saddle, ride half-way up the straight, receive dispatch, and gallop homo to the winning post. Of course, there are numerous other horse and pony events tp compete in, induing
the West Coast hunters’ competition, for which £27 in prize-money is' offered. There is also a class for the best trotter or pacer. A dog trial event will be held on the first day of the show, and for which a handsome £5 5s trophy is to bo won outright, in addition to the prize- ! money. Chopping events always provt popular at Feilding, and axemen are advised that there are competitions for a 12-inch and 14-inch block, with a total of £lB in prize-money. Entry fees have been reduced to 6s and 8s respectively for each event.
