Proposed Air Service Across the Tasman

INTERVIEW WITH MR SAVAGE. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Jan. 11. To negotiate with the Government concerning tho proposed air service across the Tasman Sea, Mr B. T. Bin el arrived from Sydney by the Mariposa this morning. Mr Sliiel accompanied the late Sir'Charles Kingsford Smith to America and England last year m connection with the ill-fated flight to Australia. Ho is a director of the Trans-Tasman Air Service Development Company, Ltd., in which Lady Kingsi'ord Smith is linuucially interested. The company plans a bi-weekly service across the Tasman using Sikorsky clipper ships, four-engined machines, carrying 28 passengers and 5001 b ot mail. For emergency purposes the machines uro divided into nine watertight compartments. Air Shicl is going to Wellington to interview the Prime Minister (Hon. M. J. Savage).
