Pigs and Poultry

There was again a capacity yarding of pigs at the weekly pig fair conducted by the Dominion Auctioneering Company at Palmerston North on Saturday. Over 400 pigs were cleared at prices well in advance of tho realisations at this time of the.year in previous season’s prices. Realisations were as follows: —Small weaners, 11s, 12s, 13s; best weaners, up to 17s; stores, 16s, 17s, 20s, 245; porkers, 26s and 35s 6d, 38s; small baconers, 50s; pedigree sows, from 24gns to sgns. Poultry was also in good demand, realisations being as follow: —White hens, 4s to ss; black hens, to 6s 6d; cockerels, to 7s 6d; ducks, 4s to 7s. All prices being per pair.
