Prom Our Own Correspondent. Sincere sympathy- will be extended to Mr E. N. Butler, of Sanson, in the death of his father, Mr 'William Eaymus Butler on Friday last. The late Mr Butler was on holiday in Wellington when he suffered a heart seizure from which he failed to rally. In his early youth the late Mr Butler took up farming on the Waimate plains and subsequently acquired property at Manaia and then at Hayvera. About ten or twelve years ago he retired to live in Hawera where he has been a member of the borough council since 1925 except for one period w-hen he was not' a candidate. •As a breeder of Jersey stock Mr Butler was noted throughout South Taranaki for his fine herd and ■he has also acted as judge of tho breed at numerous shows. In his early days Mr Butler played football for the Waimate Club and showed a very keen Interest in Rugby all his life. He was also a popular figure on the howding green and skipped a number of tournament and Taranaki Shield competition rinks. He Is survived by his widow and four sons and five daughters— Messrs William (Hawera), George and Thomas (Manaia), and E. N. Butler (Sanson), Mesdames C. Duggan, F. Rowe, and Milton Bailey (Hawera) and E. O’Brlefi and E. Higgs (Wellington). The friends of Mr H. J. Fagan will he pleased to learn that lie has sufficiently recovered from his illness to .again be about. Mrs Hammond senr., of Palmerston North, is staying with Mr and Mrs . J>. T - 1 - 1 — ——.l. x.i
