UNOFFICIALLY BROKEN AT NAPIER Per Press Association. HASTINGS, Last Night. The New Zealand heavy-weight championship record in weight-lifting was unofficially broken in Napier this evening by the substantial margin of 151b5., when Dermod Kavanagh, a 24-year-old athlete, lifted 2551b5. in the orthodox manner and held the weights above his head for the required period. No recognised referee was available, so that Kavanagh cannot look for official recognition of his feat. -
