A dinner guest in a Virginia home was telling his host how to prepare ham that would bo oven better than the famous Virginia ham. Guest: “Place tho ham in a deep pan, and the llrst day soak it in a bottle of rye whisky and let it cook awhile. Tho second day, add a bottle of Jamaica rum, and tho third day a bottle of port wine, and the fourth day a bottle of Bourbon.”
Host (turning to the coloured cook): “What do you think of that?” Mcgro Cook: “Ah don’t know ’bout the ham, but gho’ sounds like mighty line gravy-
