Mr Louis E. Snelgrove, of Weston-super-Mare (Eng.), is trying to evolve a race of tame honey bees. In the Clifton Zoological Gardens, Bristol, he has established a hive of half tame bees descended from a taino queen bee, which' sting only under the greatest provocation. Ho expects tho next generation of bees to be as docilo as battens. They will still have their, sting,, but they will never use it. Mr. fonelgove’s bee-taming methods aro simple. He says it is all done by kindness.
