Mr Oram at Rongotea

Mr. M. H. Oraiu, Democrat candidate for Ma nawalu, addressed a meeting at Kongotca last evening, Mr. L. Lf. Yarrall presiding. The attendance, which was tho largest so far recorded, demonstrated the interest that is being taken in the election.

Mr. Oram trenchantly criticised the Government for its. attitude toward the problems of the day and outlined the policy of. the Democrat Party largely on the lines of his speech at Levin, dealing chiefly with the question of exchange and the proposals for the reduction of taxation.

Mr. Oram was given a most attentive hearing and at the conclusion questions kept the meeting going to a comparatively late hour. A vote of thanks to the speaker for his address was carried by acclamation.
