Best wishes were extended by the Palmerston North Hospital Board yesterday to Nurse Banks, who has resigned to be married.
Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Green, of Cunninghams, are holidaying in Hawke’s Bay and intend visiting tho Hastings Show.
A vote of condolence with the matron of tho Palmerston North Hosx>ital (Miss J. McGhie) in tho death of her mother was carried by the Hospital Board yesterday.
Misses Marjorie Gordon, of Marton, and Marlene Ashby (Rata) have left for Dunedin where they are to commence work on a New Zealand picture production, preliminary arrangements for which were recently made by Dr. Lewis, of Hollywood.
Tho work of Sister Ford, district nurse at Shannon, was praised in a report forwarded to the Palmerston North Hospital Board yesterday by the Department of Health. It was stated that her technique was very good, and her instructions to patients and their parents were clear and definite. She seemed to bo interested in tho welfare of the Maoris in her district and to have won their confidence. Pleasure was expressed by the board at the nature of the report.
