Status Quo in French Elections
LAVAL STILL IN THE SADDLE United Pres 3 Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Monday, S.2U p.m. PARIS, Oct. 20. The final Senate results in the French elections show that tko status quo has been virtually maintained. The Radicals remain numerically the most powerful party in both Houses while the Communists enter the Senate for the first time in history.
21. Laval has been elected by two senatorial constituenccs, with the result that ho will retain the Premiership until the general elections in the spring of 1930. His election is regarded as a triumph for his homo and foreign policy and will strengthen tho Government.
