Although ho led tbo held in the qualifying round Walter Hagen was eliminated one up, by Revolta in the opening championship round of the Professional Golf Association’s annual tournament. In other important matches Sarazen beat George Crist four and three, Runyan beat Louis Chiapctta five and four, Dutra beat Gordon Brunton six and five, Smith beat Picard one up, and Shiite beat Sterling Salmcs "our and three.
In the second round Alvin Krueger eliminated Sarazen two and one, Runvan beat Dutra three and two, ltcvolta beat Hines one up, Parks beat Francis Schneider one up Smith beat Ray Mangruni one up, Denny Shutc beat Henry Montempo four and three, Laffoon beat Eddie Loos one up at the 2.lst.
