Health Stamp Campaign

CONCERT IN FEILDING Unfortunately public interest in the concert arranged in aid of tho health stamp campaign, which was held in the Majestic theatre, Feilding, on Friday night, was not by any means as great as the circumstances justified, and it is to be regretted that those who voluntarily gave their services in an effort to assist tho fund which will' benefit tho children’s health camps, did not receive the support and backing their public spirit called for. The concert was a remarkably good one and every contributor to the varied programme added to the enjoyment experienced by the audience. Tho Mayor (Mr T. Collins) expressed his regret that public patronage had not been greater and went on to thank all who had rallied together for the purpose of staging tho concert which had been decided upon as part of Feii'ding’s contribution to the health stamp campaign effort. The singing of tho children of lhu Manchester Street School choir had been remarkably good, and ho was confident that the people of Feilding would bo delighted to hear more of this combination. Ho spoke of tho good work of Mr J. 11. Thompson who had organised the concert and of tho help rendered by Mr C. H. Tate (town clerk), as well as the numerous band of performers.
