Abduction Alleged
Per Press Association. WANGANUI, Sept. 28. As the outcome of inquiries made by Detective J. Murray (Wanganui) aud Constable M. Chestuutt (Eaetihi) following the disappearance of Phyllis Margaret Davcy, aged 15, which occurred on July 17 last, a single man, David Nathan, aged 37, of Ractihi, was arrested and charged beforo Messrs. T. L. Lee and T. S. Pugg, J.P.’s, with abduction and unlawful carnal knowledge. , The accused was remanded to appear at Wanganui on October 4.
An Ohakuuc message received on Wednesday stated that Phyllis Davey, a young girl, who had been missing since July 17 aud had been the cause of a widespread search, had returned to her home at Raetihi. No intelligible explanation ha'" 1 been given by her of where she had been.
