Musical Comedy Season Advances in Popularity

"SALLY" IS DELIGHTFUL IN EVERY ASPECT Delightful in every aspect "Sally" continued its seasou at the Opera House last night and was acclaimed as an intoxicating -whirlwind of musical comedy. The rolics of humour bequeathed to the stage by Guy Dolton and Clifford Grey, the exquisite beauty of tho ballets, the possessing charm of the music and, most satisfying of all, the generous talents of the whole cast of "Sally,” earned for the production a variety of comments that had uniformity in praise. Tho story of "Sally" is no unduly strong fabric, but it is a colourful one, and of it, blessed as they were with, a splendid team, the producer, Mr. lTarnCook, and his associate, Mr. Fred Cousins, who remains as ever a tower of strength to the society, have wrought a very fine creation. They, no less than tho people across the footlights, deserve all commendation for a big job superbly done. Mr. Cousins also found timo to devote himself to stage management, and in this capacity he was of inestimable worth.

The ballots introduced provide, most satisfying interludes, artistic in’ their conception and admirable in their execution, each appearance of this welltrained team evoking a generous measure of applause. Misses Kathleen Doyle and Gressell Vaughan arranged the ballets and are to be complimented on their artistry. Miss Doyle and her partner, Mr. E. J. Bills, are also responsible for a spectacular acrobatic dance introduced in the cabaret scene and an attractive adagio in the moonlight ballet at "Tho Follies."

Tho orchestra which played delightfully under Mr. A. J. Graham comprised Mrs. E. S. Law, L.A.8., Miss Y. Gunter, L.R.S.M., Miss P. Howlev, Mr. T. Findlay violins), Misses G. McKenzie, L.A.8., and J. Patou (’cellos), Messrs J. N. Jordan (bass), M. Wilson (flute), J. Elliott (cornet), W. O’Hara (trombone) and 11. Bell (drums and effects). Mrs. Margaret Clift, L.A.8., w T as the pianiste. Mr. J. W. Muir is electrical technician. It is gratifying to note that the “Sally” season promises to eclipse all previous returns as indicated by the booking, tho lirst night audience beating all former records. “Sally” is certainly a winner. This evening will mark the third presentation and Saturday will be the final showing.
