Teetotal Drink With a Kick

Kir Henry Coward, iii urging a Band of Hope Union quest for finance, prophesied that a fortune was awaiting anyone who invented a teetotal drink with a kick in it—something that would give a glow and create a feeling of warmth. He said he was sure chemists could do it. “Let us risk £SOOO, anyway,” he added. Dr. C. W. Kaleeby suggested a mixture of carbon dioxide and oxygen.
