Providing for Dry Summers
CITY COUNCIL HAS MATTER IN HAND The City Council has not been sleeping on the water question apparently. At last evening’s meeting the works commitee submitted a proposal that an additional reservoir, aerator, pipes, valves, etc. be provided at Heretaunga street in connection with the artesian supply at an estimated cost of £2070, such sum to be found out of revenue.
The question of taking a loan for the purpose of improving the supply in accordance with the resolution passed by the council on April 12, 1935, is to be further considered after the council has made its inspection of lands at Tiriten.
