Kearney, where the July meeting was hold. .Mrs .Miller (president) presided and welcomed visitors from Apiti and Hastings. Alembers were asked to bring along next month gifts for tlie AVillard Home. A reminder was also given about the peggy squares to be handed to Airs H. Jensen. One new member was proposed for membership and given a warm welcome. There were some line new from something old. the judges finding it difficult to pick tho winners. Mrs Hogan gained first place and .Miss Hogan second. Mrs PI. Jensen was awarded first place for the bowl of violets and Mrs J. Johnson second. Airs D. Hogan demonstrated the making of rag mats, the one finished being- very attractive. The speaker for the afternoon was Mrs \V. Duncan, Apiti’s delegate to the conference. ATembers listened with keen interest as the report was given, and at tin: conclusion a hearty vote of thanks was passed to Airs Duncan. Airs G. Duncan read an interesting letter from the .Scottish link. Afternoon tea was handed round by the hostesses, after which votes of thanks wore passed to the judges and Airs Kearney for the loan of her room. The next meeting will be held at Mrs .T. Kilgour’s. The cooking competition will be the best loaf of bread (white). The points competition will be a child’s knitted singlet. The programme will take the form of a musical afternoon with community singing. Those members who can are asked to recite.
