From Our Own Correspondent. Dance at Aratika. A jolly evening was spent at Aratika on Friday when tho residents held an evening in Mr J. AValker's wool shed. Proceeds were towards the Colvton hockey queen. Dancing and competitions comprised th programme for the evening. Results of tbe various competitions were: Advertisement competition, Air J. A.ealleans; Monte Carlo, Mr T. Hyde and Miss J. AVhittaker; lucky Gay Gordons, Mr G. Adsett and Miss AV'. Wales; word forming competition, ladies. Miss B. Dungey, men, Mr N. Sargison. After supper which was provided by tlic ladies, Mr A. Funstou returned thanks on bciiaif ol Miss H. Hocken, to Mr and All's J. Walker and all the willing helpers and the rest of the district, for thoir whole-heartei. support. The duties of At.C. wore very efficiently carried out by Air C. AVilson, while tho music by Mr A. Hyde, of Bunny thorpe, was appreciated by all. Ping Pong and Badminton. The members of the local ping pong and badminton club have been handicapped this winter, the hall being under repair. Although it Is late in the season the floor has been marked out and practice is. held regularly every Monday and the reduced subscriptions have encouraged many new players to take part.
