Mr A. McMurray has returned from a brief motoring holiday to Napier.

It is good news to learn that Mrs A. Harrowfield is home from hospital gradually recovering her health. Mrs R. Vautier is home again from a stay at Karalcanui, with her daughter, Mrs Lancaster.

The batchelors held a meeting thi; week, when further details concerning their annual dance were made. As many of them feel that no doubt leap year will take toil of their numbers, they are out to make this year’s event something special. A first-class orchestra has been obtained, and a bus will be run. Further details will appear later in the paper. The inspector paid a visit to the school on Wednesday, and commented very favourably on the standard of work at the school. Mr D Prince and family, who recently left the district, have taken up residence in Te Arakura. . „ , Supplies of milk are holding well, and farmers are now taking the loads every second day. It is quite a common thing to see lambs frisking about the paddocks and now the calf lorries are busy again collecting the bobby calves. Chickens have made their appearance in many poultry runs and one yard possesses a turkey with a healthy family of ten. Mr Henry Gore is home again after a motoring trip up to the Chateau, where ho spent a few days amidst the snow. Her friends will be pleased to learn that Mrs L. Newcombe, although still it hospital, is slowly improving in health.
