June Wedding Celebrated at Longburn

LAN GKILDE—MARSHALL. Tlie Longburn Methodist Church, was the scene of a very pretty wedding on Tuesday, Juno 4, when Edith Irene, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Marshall, of Ivarcre, was married to Kay Ernest Olaus, only son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Langkilde, of Otorohanga. Rev. H. L. Richards performed tho ceremony and Miss R. ißrch played tho wedding music. They which was beautifully decorated by members of the girls' club, heather and carnations predominating with asparagus fern, chrysanthemums and roses, 'flic bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, looked charming in a graceful gown of white suede crepe made on slim lines fitting to the knees and flaring to fullness at the hem. The full ray trimming at the neck and shoulders added an effective contrast to the tight fitting sleeves which were puffed above the elbows. The beautiful Brussells veil, which was loaned by Mrs. Rendon, sister of the bridegroom, was held in place by a halo of orange blossoms. The bride's shower bouquet was composed of whito and pale pink carnations with touches of pink violets and roses entwined with maiden hair fern and pink streamers.

Tho two bridesmaids in attendance were Miss Paula Langkilde (chief), sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Violet Zurcher. The bridesmaids were dressed alike in attractive gowns ol soft green allendale crepe made on fitting lines with cowl sleeves finished with gold shoulder sprays aud sashes flowing gracefully to .the hem of the skirt. A picturesque halo of gold leaves was worn to complete the toilet The bridesmaids’ bouquets were composed of yellow roses, gold chrysanthemums and leaves and maiden hair fern with gold streamers. Misses Vera and Violet Osborne, cousins of the bride, who completed the bridal group, were frocked alike in pale blue sprigged muslin over pink satin with puffed sleeves aud frills touching tho ground. A head band of gold leaves gave a very pretty effect. They carried posies of pink heather and forgetmenots. Mr. Langkilde was supported by Mr. I. Fraser, as best man and Mr. J. Marshall, brother of the bride, as groomsman. Subsequently a reception was held in Messrs. Collinson and Cunninghame’s tearooms, when a large number of friends was present! Mr. and Mrs. Marshall received the guests, the latter wearing a tailored brown ensemble with hat to tono and carrying a posy of autumn tinted flowers and berries. They were assisted by Mrs. Peneiou, sister of tho bridegroom (in tho unavoidable absence of his parents) who was wearing a smart blue frock and fawn. coat. Her posy was of red roses and autumn leaves. Tlio customary toasts were honoured and a number of congratulatory telegrams were read. The young couple were tho recipients of many beautiful wedding gifts, Vhe bridegroom's gift to tho bride being a pin seal handbag. Tho bridesmaids were presented with, rock crystal necklets and the smaller maids with in Bailed signet rings being the gifts of the bridegroom. Luring the afternoon a song was rendered by Miss E. Birch, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. D, Fraser. When Mr. and Mrs. Langkilde left by train for the north Mrs. Laygkilde was wearing an ensemble of blue flecked tweed with hat to match and shoes and stockings to tone. Their future home will be at Tiakitahuna.
