There was a decrease in the scores at tho weekly shoot on Monday due to lighting trouble, only two possibles by 11. Ellery and IC. Bailey being recorded. Vho scores were: 11. Ellery 69, 70, 139; K. A large number of friends was present at the coniing-of-ago party tendered Mr. G. AViggins by Mr. and Mrs. H. Masters, on Tuesday evening. Tho time was spent in dancing and with competitions after which supper was served by the hosts. To mark the occasion, a beautiful birthday cake, suitably decorated and made by Mrs. AViggins, mother of the guest, occupied a prominent place on trie tame. A short toast list was honoured, that oi tlie guest of the evening being proposed by Mr. I. N. Loot, who congratulated Mr. AViggins on reaching his majority, and stated that he was a most popular resident of (he district, having taksn a prominent part in all the activities of the district. Mr. Wiggins, in replying, thanked ail for their wishes and congratulations and for the many beautiful presents ho had received. He also specially thanked Mr. and Mrs. Masters for their kindness in tendering him tho function. Mr. H. Ellery proposed the toast of the parents of the guest, remarking that although they wero not residents of the district they had assisted in many ol the functions, particularly those of the rule club. Mr. AViggins senior suitably repl.ed and in doing so. thanked Mr. and Mi's. Masters for their kindness to his son. A special toast was proposed by Mr. H. Masters, that of tho guests’ grandmother (Mrs. Lassen) who had specially travelled to lie present. Mr. Dluldroclc replied on behalf of Mrs. Lassen. Music was supplied by Misses R. fichu, A. Murphy and Mrs. Redpath. Miss N. Masters contributed two songs and mi. A. Pedersen humorous recitations. A beautiful bouquet made by Miss I. Ellery was presented to Mrs. Wiggins. J\ Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss M. Tremain and Mr. A. Pedersen (snr). A competition was won by Miss J. sen and Mr. M. Klatt, while Mr. Klat also won a game. Mr. G. Osborne acted as M.C. Personal. Sir. 11. Green is staying at Auckland. Mr and Sirs. S. Quinlan havo left lor Auckland for a holiday _ Sir. J. Ellery is spending his holidays at Mv. U E!
