From Our Own Correspondent. Quite a gloom was cast over tho Oneptihi district- over the week-end when it was learned that a small Maori lad of five years had' been killed in an unfortunate accident.

It appears that, accompanied, by his mother, he was riding in a gig .when the horse suddenly bolted. After a mad gallop, the gig was overturned, tho child receiving fatal injuries, while the mother was slightly hurt also. As a result of tho tragedy, the Tokorangi Ladies’ Hockey Club defaulted all their matches at the Feilding tournament on June 3. School Success. Tho Tokorangi school seven-a-side Rugby team fully justified the confidence of its supporters when it won the primary schools’ tourney held at Palmerston North on June 3.
