From Our Own Correspondent. Methodist Church. The anniversary services in connection with tho Dlethodist Church wero held last week. On tho Sunday the preachers were Mr. Passey, morning, while the evening service was conducted by Rev. C. A. Fosten. The anniversary was contisued on tho AVednesday night when the annual tea and concert were held, proving very successful in spite of adverse weather conditions. The greater part of the programme was contributed by the Pahiatua Dlethodist Choir conducted by Dll'. Clark with Dir. Pringle at tho piano. Other artists who assisted very considerably were Dlrs. D. Dlaul (Ashliurst) and Dliss Birch (Palmerston North). Dir. Fosten, in welcoming tho performers, said it gave him great pleasure to see some of his old friends who had been in the choir when ho had had charge of tho Pahiatua circuit, still doing their part in assisting the choir and church. The concert consisted of fhe following items: “Break Forth into Joy,” the choir; song. Dlrs. D. Dlaul; song, Dir. Greaves; violin solo, Dliss Ebbctt; glee serenade, the choir; song, Dliss Junker; song, Dir. Truscott; fantasia, national airs, _ the choir; song, Dir. Ogg; song, Dliss Birch; song, Dir. AVatson; anthem, "King of Kings,” choir; songs, Dliss Ebbett; Dll'. Truscott; Dliss Junker; Dlrs, Dlaul. The accompaniments were played by Dlrs. C. C. Thomson and Dir. Pringlo. Dir. C. G. Dunham, on. behalf of the Ashliurst Church, thanked the performers for tlie very pleasing programme which had been rendered. Tho performers wero entertained at supper prior to departing for Liieir hollies.
