From Our Own Correspondent. The second of a series of fortnightly euchre tournaments organised by the committee of the local All Saints’ Church was held last Friday evening. There was a good attendance present to participate in the play, the prizes being annexed by Mrs. I-lall and Mr. R. Kirkland. Consolation prizes wero awarded to Miss J. Doreen and Master B. Hall. Other competitions were won by Miss Mary Collis and Mr. F. Cummins.

The agricultural inspector, Mr. E. H. Lange, visited the school Inst Friday morning to- inspect and weigh mangold plots cultivated by pupils. Owing to <fie dry season experienced only three out of the fourteen plots reached maturity. The average weight to the acre secured was as follows:—Alma Cooper, 140 tons; Eric Cooper, 120 tons; Colin Hyde, 102 tons. Mr. Lunge stated that this was the lirst time for 15 years that the weight of all plots entered from one school had averaged over 100 tons each.
