Registrar Appointed For Court of Review

PREPARATION FOR SITTINGS Preparations are now being made for sittings of the Court of-Review constituted under tho' Rural Mortgagors Final Adjustment Act, which comes into force on May 1, from which date applications for the adjustment of mortgage, liabilities may be tiled, together with a-complete list of creditors and debtors. Mr. H. E. Reid Registrar of the Supreme Court at Palmerston North, lias been appointed a registrar the new tribunal under the Act. Neither the Supreme Court nor the Magistrate, however, has any statutory jurisdiction within the New Act, this being confined to the Court of Review and to the District Adjustment Commissions. Likewise, the ■ Court of Review has

at present no jurisdiction under tho Mortgagors and Tenants Relief Act, and the Supreme Court will continue to exercise authority there on the same lines as hitherto. The only amendment to the Mortgagors Relief Act is ‘ that section 34 is repealed, thus continuing the duration of' the Act.indefinitely. It will still 1 continue in full fOfco and effect, with the qualification that on an application for adjustment of a farmer’s mortgage. liabilities ~ being, filed with the Court of. Review,. the Mortr gagors Relief Act and any order thereunder shall immediately,cease; fro apply to the mortgagor. f ,
