Taikorea

From Our Own Correspondent. The warm rain which fell with the approach of tho depression which recently crossed the country, was responsible for a fall of two inches in this district. In spite of tho heavier rains of sevoral weeks ago the countryside was badly in need of the refreshing downfall. Bawns are coming away very slowly while feed for stock, although not altogether short, shows no sign of a good autumn flush. . Mr. E. H. Bange, chief agricultural instructor to the Wanganui Education Board, visited the school on Tuesday. Tho tennis team which visited Rongotea on Saturday last, was severely trounced, winning only one of the sixteen sets player. In the return match to be played at Taikorea 'on Saturday week, the local players hope to do much better. On Monday evening the annual meeting of the Taikorea Sports Club will be held while on Wednesday evening In the school will bo held the annual meeting of the Te Kawau Primary Schools’ Basketball Association.
