Speaking to tho report, Canon Woodward said tho year had been a very successful one. Ho urged that the union should do its best to gain now members. One aim of the union was to make mothers realise their responsibility. They were living in a very critical age—an age that required all the thought, religion, sympathy and energy of right-thinking people. They could not conceive of any greater body than the Mothers’ Union for helping forward in this way. The mother was in the homo and tho mother was to train the people of the future. Canon Woodward said he felt that the children of to-day were not attending the churches and Sunday schools as they did some 30-10 years ago, and that parents were not teaching children as they should in the homes. It was for tho mothers to help iu this direction—the nation could only live when it put its trust and confidence in God.

It was derided to give a donation of £3 to the Mothers’ Union in Melanesia, and £1 to the Vicar’s relief fund. Mesdames J. Cameron and TV E. Taylor will visit tho Hospital during the coming month.
