Alleged Assault With Bottle
CASE AT WELLINGTON WELLINGTON, March 4. Injuries received as tho result of an alleged assault with a bottle resulted in Mr J. King, of Gliuznec Street, a traveller, being removed to hospital yesterday morning with lacerated wounds to the face and head, and Airs A, Hunter, of Roxburgh Street, with a wound in tho forehead from a piece of glass. A man aged 50, Thomas Carroll Russell Hunter, a butcher, was to-day charged with assaulting Air King so as to cause actual bodily harm, and he was remanded until Alarch 13,
Asking for bail, Air R. Ilardio Boys said Hunter had gone to Air King’s rooms on a matter of business and found his wifo there. Hunter had lived and worked in Wellington for many years and, although he had lately been separated from his wife, there was no likelihood of his not answering bail. Bail was granted at £IOO conditional on accused reporting daily to the po lice, lie was also ordered not to approach liis wife or Air King in the meantime.
