COUNTRIES’ VOTING POWER

LONDON, March 3,

The Observer says that tho International Tennis Federation on March 15 will consider a redistribution of votes, in order to recognise to a greater degree countries which have become more important since tho votes were originally allotted. The following increases of votes are proposed: —France, Britain, Australia, Germany, America, votes increased from 6 to 12; Canada, Italy, New Zealand, and South Africa, increased from 4 to 9; Japan and Czechoslovakia, which formerly had two, to be given nine; other countries with three, to be given seven, with proportionate increases among lower representations. Thus tho voting power will bo increased from 99 to 259.

The cliango will also give the federation a larger income, as the cost per vote at the annual meeting has been increased from £1 to 2, giving an income of over £SOO.
