Forthcoming Tasman Yacht Race
ME. J. W. S. McAHTHUR SEEKS POSTPONEMENT Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Last, Night. A request that the start of the forthcoming yacht race from Auckland to Melbourne be postponed from the scheduled date, December 8, to about December 23, has been made on behalf of Mr. J. W. S. McArthur, owner of the 80-ton yacht Morcwa, to the Akarana Yacht Club, w T hich is controlling the contest. The impossibility of having new sails which have been ordered for the yacht ready by December 8 has prompted the request, which has yet to be considered by the Yacht Club.
