IMPERSONATION OF BANNED NEW ZEALANDER. MELBOURNE, Nov. 20. < The Attorney-General (Mr. Mcnzies) stated to-day that orders had been given to the Chief of the Commonwealth Investigation Branch (Lieuten-ant-Colonel H. E. Jones) to find Gerald Griffin (the Wellington delegate to the conference against war and Fascism, who was forbidden to land in Australia, and has since been reported addressing meetings in various places here) if he is in Australia and arrest liim immediately. The efforts of the officers of the Investigation Branch have been considerably hampered by the lack of means of identifying Griffin. The Federal authorities cabled the Wellington police asking definitely for the whereabouts of Griffin.
Although several leaders at the Kisch protest meeting in the Melbourne Stadium on Sunday night declared that Griffin had appeared in person, it is stated in official circles that the banned New Zealander was impersonated. It is pointed out that the man who addressed the meeting is considerably younger Ithan' Griffin,
