Police Await Masked Robbers
LATTER ESCAPE WITH HAUL OF TOBACCO. United Press Association.—By liicctrio Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Monday, 8.15 p.m. MELBOURNE, Nov. 19. Leaping in a high-powered motorcar and ignoring a fusillade of bullets fired by the police, two masked robbers escaped with £BOO worth of tobacco and cigarettes from D. Cohen’s tobacco store in Swan street, Richmond, this morning. Whether any of the shot 3 took effect is not known. The police had hidden in the vicinity owing to a mysterious message received by an employee last week: “Your shop will be raided over the week-end.” ■
