Accidentally- shot through the chest, while on a deerstalking expedition in the Tararua Ranges on Sunday, Charles James Galliers, aged 24, of Wellington, died while being carried out of the bush on a stretcher. A married man, he leaves a wife and infant. A rifle was dropped by a member of the party while descending a bank and it discharged. The bullet pierced Mr. Galliers’s chest, having narrowly missed his brother, who was standing behind him.
