A Tress Asssociation message from Christchurch states that in one respect the Coroner’s inquiry into tho lire at the warehouse of Davidson and Co., Ltd., on June 8, has eclipsed, in its purely Court machinery aspect, the Ituawaro murder case. The hearing in the Magistrate’s Court of tho charge against William Bayly occupied twentyone days, during which 245 pages of depositions were typed. The fire inquiry already has occupied ten days and two nights, and Friday’s hearing was not far advanced before the clerk had passed the total of pages of depositions taken in tho Euawaro case.
