Oroua Downs
From Our Own Correspondent. A general meeting of the Oroua Downs branch of the Now Zealand Poultry Producers’ Federation was held in the Oroua Downs School last week. There was a good attendance. The chair was taken by the president, Mr. A. Thomson. In addition to the president and secretary, Mr. E. W. Thompson, Mr. F. C. Raikes was elected vice-president, and a committee of five members was elected, including the three above mentioned officers and Mr. L. Hunter and Mrs. Boyden. Mr. M. Mills was elected auditor. A set of rules, kindly forwarded by the Manurewa branch, was adopted with some minor alterations. A questionnaire from the Poultry Board regarding grading and marking of eggs was dealt with. Several new members were enrolled and an informal discussion took place on various aspects of the poultry industry. The next general meeting will be held in February.
